Description
The Carl Vinson VA Medical Center located in Dublin, GA is recruiting for a full-time BE/BC Pulmonologist.

The physician will consult and treat patients in an outpatient, inpatient, and Emergency Department setting and interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs) and sleep studies.

•Physician will spend at least 80% of time in clinic answering consults for outpatient pulmonary care and providing follow-up care as needed. The remainder of the time is spent between interpreting PFTs and sleep studies and answering inpatient and ED consults.

•Evaluates patients to determine need for further care

•Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice and conducting medication reconciliation

•Orders diagnostic studies such as laboratory tests, x-rays, pulmonary function tests and sleep studies

•Assist with other collateral duties as assigned by supervisor, Chief of Staff or Director

Board eligible is required and board certification is preferred

Work schedule: Monday- Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Salary Range: up to $240,000 per year

Recruitment/relocation incentive may be available for a highly qualified candidate

The selected candidate for this position may be eligible to apply for educational loan assistance thru the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Participation in this program is subject to fund availability.

Qualifications Required:

•U.S. citizenship – US citizenship is required for this position. Non-citizens will be considered if a US citizen is not available

•English language proficiency- Must be proficient in spoken and written English

•Physical standards - All applicants must meet the physical standards for the position. A physical examination prior to employment may be required.

•Licensure and Registration – Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e., Puerto Rico) of the United States or in the District of Columbia. The Physician must maintain a current registration to continue employment with the VA

•Educational requirements - Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. Approved schools are:

•Schools of medicine holding regular institutional membership in the Association of American Medical Colleges for the year in which the degree was granted.

•Schools of osteopathic medicine approved by the American Osteopathic Association for the year in which the degree was granted.

•Schools (including foreign schools) accepted by the licensing body of a State, Territory, or Commonwealth (i.e. Puerto Rico), or in the District of Columbia as qualifying for full or unrestricted licensure. The following requirements for this position are as follows:

• Board certified or board eligible in Pulmonology
