Outpatient
Immediate need for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join a family mental Health group.
Job Summary: The Psych. Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant is a Masters level nurse with advanced education and clinical training in Family health care. NPs/PAs work in close collaboration with CMO. They provide comprehensive client centered mental health care to individuals, groups and families across the life span. They will be supervised by our CMO.
Essential Functions of the Job: Provide routine diagnostic, therapeutic and emergency care for patients in collaboration with the supervising psychiatrist. May maintain a patient case load and have specialized training in a clinical area.
Representative Examples of Work Performed or Managed: - Perform initial diagnostic assessment.
- Develops treatment plan.
- Provides medication management.
- Provides patient education.
- Provides brief psychotherapy.
- Makes referrals for further diagnostic psychological or medical testing as needed
- Makes referrals to treatment programs as per company policy
- Provides appropriate patient assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation in accordance with acceptable Standards of Care
- Confers with families, agencies, and pharmacies regarding patient care.
- Works in collaboration with multi-disciplinary team to perform clinical assessment and develop treatment plans. The team includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Mental Health Therapists, Nurses, Ancillary Service Managers, Research Managers, and others.
- Provides medication education to patients regarding medication effects and side effects.
- Provides industry relevant tips for the facility newsletter and staff education.
- Appropriately and timely documents and codes all patient visits, paperwork, disability, etc. Work as appropriate by industry and standards
- May see patients in person on-site/off-site or over a telemedicine platform
- Other duties as assigned
