Work Schedule: Positions Supervised: None
8 a.m. to 5:30 pm Monday- Thursday.
8 a.m. to 12:00 pm on Friday. However,
additional hours may be required to complete duties.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Staff Physician works as part of the care team medical provider team providing medical services to the patients. Physician will supervise NP’s and PA’s as appropriate. The Staff Physician is involved in continuous Quality Improvement practices and measures as set by us and in which the practice focus is based on a Patient Centered Medical Home model of care.
1. Provides primary medical care by caring for all patients in accordance with the physician’s medical specialty.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
2. Develops a plan of care for each patient, including: complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral, including hospitalization where necessary.
3. Stresses the importance of preventative health care measures.
4. Uses all available resources in diagnosis and treatment, such as laboratory and radiological testing, in an appropriate and cost efficient manner.
5. Confers with consulting physicians, nurses, patients, and patient’s families concerning treatment and care of patients.
6. Refers those cases which require specialist services, but maintains responsibility, assuring that continuity of care is provided.
7. Participates in the development and implementation of annually up-dated quality assurance plan.
8. Attends all medical staff meetings and participates in the community health center’s QI program.
9. Performs other necessary duties as required to meet the goals of providing quality, primary healthcare.
10. Participates in daily team huddles and communicates concerns or necessary information to the care team.
