Provides quality patient care 4.5 days per work week within the scope of a Nurse Practitioner, with the ability to think and work with a broad scope of clinical practice; adheres to all treatment, procedure and medication guidelines as directed by clinic policies and state or federal law; conducts self in a professional manner, strictly following confidentiality policies, maintaining flexibility, and working cooperatively and supportively with other staff.

•  Provide ambulatory care services as per the scope of a Family Nurse Practitioner.
•  Collaborates with physicians on patient care when indicated.
•  Arranges and coordinates referrals and consultations.
•  Prescribes and dispenses required medications in appropriate fashion as allowed by his/her license.
•  Explains the nature of the diagnosis, the consequences if not treated, and the side effects of any prescribed or recommended treatment.
•  Coordinates appropriate patient education.
•  Promotes wellness and prevention of illness from a family-centered perspective.
•  Shares excess walk-in patients as necessary and as appropriate.
•  Shares telephone triage call duties with physicians (one in 4-5) including weekends.
•  Follows the clinic schedule.
•  Participates in quality control protocols and chart reviews.
•  Is supportive and professional with all clinic staff.
•  Learns and utilizes clinic billing process appropriately.
•  Documents patient encounters in Epic electronic health record in a timely fashion, usually within 24 hours.
•  Cooperates with clinic insurance carriers as requested in matters related to risk management and malpractice risk reduction.
•  Participates in continuing education programs to maintain legally required contact hours for RN and NP license, and for certification with the American Nurses’ Credentialing Center.
•  Keeps clear documentation of continuing education hours.
•  Participates in the establishment, evaluation, and revision of clinic and practice policies.
•  Potential to develop inpatient skills.
•  Potential clinical health services for local minimum security prison inmates.
•  Works toward established objectives of the organization.
•  Assumes administrative duties as delegated.
