The Physician is an independent health care provider who, working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, is responsible for providing medical services services to the adult, geriatric and pediatric patients. This role’s primary duties are assessment, diagnosis and treatment of homeless individuals at both outreach and clinic sites. This role reports to the Director of Internal Medicine.


                                                      RESPONSIBILITIES

Effectively provide clinical services including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and referral
Effectively provide quality chronic, preventive, acute and outreach care based on established standards of care
Actively participate on an integrated, multidisciplinary team to develop and implement an integrated treatment plan, within the context of an individual or family’s unique social needs, as well as contribute to interdisciplinary case conferences on an ongoing basis
Accurately complete documentation of services in the electronic medical record
Models and reinforces the “core values” of dignity, authenticity, hope, justice, passion and balance

Protects our client’s personal health information by maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other relevant Health Care related IT security regulations
Performs other duties on an as-needed basis
                                                   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
       Education
Graduate of an accredited school of medicine
Possesses a registered physician’s license in Maryland
Possesses CDS and DEA licenses
BLS CPR certification
       Experience
1-2 years of direct clinical care experience, preferably working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary clinical setting
experience in a community or public health setting working with the underserved is preferred
Comfortable working with homeless and/or low-income individuals and families
       Skills
Excellent interpersonal skills to interact and maintain relationships with a wide range of personalities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with EMRs
Able to cope with interruptions, be flexible, and be a team player
Flexible approach, working with several cross-disciplinary teams in a collaborative style
Culturally sensitive working with staff and clients from diverse backgrounds
Able to work with ill, disabled, emotionally upset and sometimes hostile individuals
