Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an opening for a civilian Full Time Internal Medicine Physician at Fairfax Health Center in Fairfax, Virginia.    Spectrum Healthcare is currently recruiting for a full-time Internal Medicine Physician to provide outpatient services at the Fairfax Family Health Center, an outpatient center in support of Fort Belvoir Army Medical Center. The physician will be an employee of Spectrum, eligible for a full complement of benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as paid time off and 10 paid Federal Holidays. Any active state license is acceptable to work in this facility and there are no malpractice costs for the physician.   Physicians across the Country are struggling with the volume of daily episodes of care required by their employers to help make the “revenue model” work for their organizations. At the Family Health Centers, there are no revenue targets or managed care pressures. Our practice model is designed to offer Physicians an opportunity to deliver high quality healthcare for their patients.     This contract position offers: - Outpatient setting - Average of 19 patients per day - Clinic hours -7am to 8pm, 7am to 2pm on Saturdays - Schedule will be 7:00am to 3:30pm - One day per week will work 11:30am to 8:00pm - One Saturday per month - No on-call responsibilities - Treating the active duty and dependents - No OB patient care component - Will have an empaneled and compliant patient base - Employee status - Consistent and predictable pay Job Duties: The Physician shall provide full spectrum Internal Medicine care encompassing outpatient procedural services. This will be provided in a cost-effective manner that focuses on patient-centered evidence-based outcomes. They will collaborate with staff and other clinical departments within and outside the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) to facilitate excellent patient care.  The Physician will have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases/injuries to include but not limited to; Cardiovascular diseases (congestive heart failure, hyper-tension, arrhythmias, acute myocardial infarction), respiratory diseases (asthma, bronchitis, pulmonary thromboembolism, pulmonary insufficiency & adult respiratory distress syndrome), gastrointestinal diseases (peptic ulcer, gastritis, pancreatitis, cirrhosis & alcoholic liver), endocrinology (disease of the thyroid & diabetes mellitus), rheumatology (sarcoidosis, degenerative joint disease), renal disease (acute renal failure, urinary tract infection), neurology (epilepsy & cerebrovascular disease) and infectious diseases (infectious diarrheas, bacterial infections, hospital-acquired infections, tuberculosis, infections of the compromised host & other mycobacterial infections).
