Description
ATS is seeking a professional with the knowledge, skills, abilities and experience to provide Internal Medicine services to patients at an Indian health government facility on a one to five year contract. Place of performance: Lawton, Oklahoma Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine, from an accredited medical school. Current, valid license to practice medicine, in the state of Oklahoma Current and valid Board certification Currant, valid malpractice insurance 2 – 4 years experience BLS US Citizen Job Duties: Contract physician shall provide on-site services as follows: The number of patients to be seen shall be no less than an estimated 16 per eight (8) hour work day. The physician shall examine, diagnose, and develop treatment plans and recommendations for patients seen. The physician shall recommend and refer patients to other Indian Health Service providers and Purchase Referred Care vendors within appropriate IHS guidelines. The physician shall be proficient in electronically documenting services utilizing the appropriate electronic medical record system for patient encounters; complete all required administrative paperwork day of appointment to include electronic consults, co-signatures, completion of chart or Risk Management Reviews, unusual occurrences and peer review, as required. Proficiency in electronic documentation is the ability to complete all required administrative paperwork within 24-hours of patient visits. The physician shall be responsible for actions necessary for The Joint Commission (TJC) standard compliance and administrative policies, as directed. Provide consultation to the Emergency Department health care providers on an as needed basis. The Government will provide assistance, orientation and guidance in seeing patients as well as receiving supplies, utilizing and ordering laboratory, radiology and pharmacy services. The physician shall be capable of responding to rapidly changing patient load and unexpected needs for temporary coverage within a service unit.
