Place of Performance:
Alexandria, VAA-Team Solutions is seeking a Physician for a full time position to provide services at a local school in Alexandria, VA for an opportunity that we are currently pursuing. Job Duties: • ?Assist with the review, evaluation, and revision of the school health program’s policy and procedures.
• Participate as an active member of the School Health Advisor Board (Meets every other month September through June.)
• Advise on development of professional staff continuing education.
• Encourage collaboration and communication between community physicians and ACPS.
• Provide medical orders for emergency medications, such as epinephrine for children with undiagnosed life-threatening allergic conditions.
• Provide consultation, as needed, on health curricula in grades Pre-K through 12.
• Advocate for a comprehensive school health program in the community.
• Provide consultation for development of new mechanisms for health care delivery in the schools, including mental and behavioral health.
• Serve as the collaboration physician with licensed nurse practitioners in a practice agreement with prescriptive authority as specified in 18VAC90-30-90

Skills
Requirements: Physician must at a minimum hold a license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia. It is preferred that the Physician shall be board certified or board eligible in pediatrics and/ or family practice and hold a Master’s degree in Public Health.
Possession of a critical knowledge base to include:

• Medical and legal issues including: IDEA, Section 504, ADA Act, FERPA and HIPPA
• Adolescent Health
• Sports Medicine
• Emergency Preparedness
• Environmental and Occupational Health
