Description
DC YOUTH REHABILITATION SERVICES (DCYRS)Minimum Qualifications: Have successfully completed a residency program in psychiatry which has been approved by approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association. Have successfully completed a fellowship program in child and adolescent psychiatry. ACLS, BLS and Board Certification required SCOPE OF WORK SUMMARY
1. Completion of psychiatric evaluations to assess for medication, diagnostic clarification and/or treatment planning recommendations. 2. Completes emergency psychiatric evaluations including; a. Crisis Intervention; b. Completion of petitions for involuntary hospitalization (FD-12); c. Court ordered evaluations to determine the need for hospitalization if appropriate; 3. Provides oversight for youth placed on suicide watch; 4. Completes psychiatric evaluations to assist in determining the appropriate treatment and placement of youth who are committed to DYRS; 5. Attend staff and/or youth meetings (YFTM or ISP team meetings) or other pertinent meetings as deemed appropriate by the site clinical coordinator; 6. Interacts with DYRS medical and behavioral health staff in the coordination of care for youth with medical and psychiatric problems and to: a. Provide psychiatric expertise in difficult and complex clinical situations. b. Assist in the coordination of care of youth with somatic health problems. c. Provide appropriate recommendations and prescriptions for youth being discharged. 7. Contact youth’s parent/guardian for authorization to provide
