JOB REQUIREMENTS: * State of California licensure as a Physician's Assistant. * Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration Certification with current DEA registration number. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Examines patients to determine presence of disease utilizing physical examinations, lab reports, and medical history to ascertain the nature and extent of disease and prescribes treatments as necessary. * Establishes preventive health practices, performs pap smears, breast examinations as well as treatment plan for patients with chronic or ongoing medical issues. * Counsels for birth control and prescribes as appropriate. * Reviews results of lab tests and diagnostic imaging and arrange appropriate follow-up. * Documents patient information in medical records according to MR protocols. * Conducts chart review and quality assurance activities. * Ensures compliance with medical risk management and health care related regulations and policies. * Participates in Provider meetings. * Responds to calls from pharmacies regarding prescriptions and refills. Screen all patients for health maintenance needs, including immunizations. Educates patients in health promotion, disease prevention and birth control methods.
