Lower Extremity Reconstruction Orthopaedic Surgeon Academic Opportunity - Portland, OR The Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for a full-time Orthopaedic Surgeon with interest in Lower Extremity Reconstruction. The surgeon will be joining a team that will consist of 5 orthopaedic surgeons and 4 physician’s assistants, at one of the Nation’s top performing VA medical centers. The VA Orthopaedics Section in Portland is a teaching service, closely affiliated with the Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program at the Oregon Health & Sciences University, and has a General Surgery Intern as well as Orthopaedic PGY2 and PGY5 Residents on its service at all times. Applicants for the Lower Extremity Reconstruction position should be sub-specialty fellowship trained in primary and complex / revision lower extremity joint replacement surgery. Applicants without sub-specialty fellowship training, but with a documented prior clinical practice focusing on primary and complex / revision arthroplasties would be considered qualified as well. This position will be a full-time staff position with the Orthopaedics Section at the Portland VA Medical Center, with an additional academic appointment at the affiliated university medical school and university hospital (Oregon Health & Science University) on the same campus. All clinical responsibilities will be exclusively at the Portland VAMC, delivering care to patients within the VA system. Additional responsibilities will include education and training of Orthopaedic residents, as well as participation in academic conferences at the affiliated university hospital. http://www.portland.va.gov/ • Recruitment or Relocation Incentives may be authorized.
